Ko-Ach Adventures provides youth with canoe tripping and outdoor experiential opportunities that are concurrently challenging and inspiring.
Ko-Ach specializes in outdoor adventure experiences for two particular groups: (1) youth diagnosed along the Autism Spectrum; and (2) Youth deemed to be "at risk".
Each of our staff is trained in working with these populations and is dedicated to providing meaningful summer experiences that are both fun and rewarding.
The skills learned and fun of each trip is matched only by the enthusiasm and care of our talented staff team. Participants with Ko-Ach Adventures will have the opportunity to develop strength of character, build friendships and challenge themselves through outdoor recreation and adventure.
Each Ko-Ach Adventure takes the form of a canoe trip in the Temagami region of Ontario. Our skilled guides, strong client to staff ratio of 2-1 and dynamic programming makes Ko-Ach Adventures an ideal place for individual and group development.
Ko-Ach Adventures particularly prides itself in offering an enhanced experience for campers who benefit from our increased staff attention - that is, campers with special needs, youth at risk. and youth with developmental delays.
Fundamentally, Ko-Ach Adventures aims to promote healthy living and well-being while instilling a sense of accomplishment, pride and community among each of our participants.
Ko-Ach Adventures follows a client-centered approach to recreation and skill development. Varied outdoor activities - such as hiking, swimming and an eco-challenge - mix skill development with positive social interaction and fun.
Under the guidance of our staff, participants will contribute to the entire trip experience including meal preparation and navigating the trip itself. The program is designed to encourage creativity, respect, positive relationships, and above all, having fun!!!
